About this deal

When he’s not covering the latest mobile trends, you’ll find him reading or chatting with people who are using socially engaged practice to foster more sustainable and inclusive communities. It’s a halfway house to the foldable future that really needs to be built into the phone for it to properly work. micron sensor that can maximize light in photos by ‘pixel binning,’ a process that combines four pixels into one. It is when you use the LG V60 ThinQ over an extended period that you start to forgive the lack of real top-drawer specs.

Overall, 1080p recording is acceptable for short videos for social media, but you’ll probably be underwhelmed if you use it for something longer than 10 to 15 seconds. By itself, the phone has looks we’d expect on a Samsung flagship, including a pearl-hued glass back, gold-ish trim around the camera bump, and burnished aluminum sides. Not really found anything other than links for the USA versions of the phone, they don't seem to have the correct bands for most of the UK networks. Fortunately, the V60 breathes fresh life into the lineup with a big, bold redesign that will definitely turn heads. However, while some of these are neat to play with, the gap between the screens is cumbersome, meaning only some apps, like Google Maps, are useful to view this way. To delete items from the clip tray, tap the delete icon (usually represented by a rubbish bin symbol). While there are still extensive customizations from the settings menu to app transitions, it’s cleaner and looks less dated.

PCMag is obsessed with culture and tech, offering smart, spirited coverage of the products and innovations that shape our connected lives and the digital trends that keep us talking. That said, we think 5G usage will have an impact on battery and are evaluating different methods to test its impact. So as the title says, is there anyone here using a t-mobile variant of the v60 in the UK, and if so does it work fine on 3g/4g? As the european/international version is virtually impossible to find, I'm looking at the unlocked USA variants of this phone. For that, you get a good phone with a fun Dual Screen add-on, 5G, performance that mostly matches the competition and a strong camera. If you don’t fit into one of those categories, however, we recommend you consider the Galaxy S20+ or the upcoming OnePlus 8. While the V60 misses out on a few of the nicer perks of the comparably-sized Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus (like 12GB of RAM and triple-rear cameras), it’s also notably cheaper.

Really want to stick with LG as I've used them since my local O2 guru recommened them years ago, but as neither device was launched in the UK, worried about compatability. The phone’s outstanding feature, cameras-wise, is its ability to capture video at 8K at 24fps (a 7680 x 4320 resolution), matching the Galaxy S20 line, with LG’s ‘Steady Record’ technology on hand to stabilize footage. But its extra display space is clunkier in execution than foldables out there, leaving it more appealing to niche consumers. To turn on the Dual Screen’s display, you tap the small white dual-arrow icon (by default this is on the right side of the display) to expand a small menu with options to swap screens or to put the main screen to sleep – if, say, you wanted to watch media on the second display and dim the first to save battery. The Dual Screen works like a firm folio case, opening up to reveal a second display with the exact same dimensions as the V60’s screen – plug the phone into the Dual Screen’s USB-C plug and snap it into place, and voila, you have twice the screen real estate. The phone is 5G-capable in the sub-6 frequencies, though some versions also support mmWave – but it’s notably cheaper than similar-sized big 5G phones regardless. I live in The Netherlands and my provider, Simyo, uses the KPN network with 800mhz (band 20) and 1800mhz (band 3) for 4G/LTE. Whether it’s a chat conversation, your Twitter feed, or a YouTube/Netflix video you don’t want to pause, the Dual Screen is handy for multitasking, even if it’s just to streamline media consumption.
