The parts are made of brightly coloured solid plastic which you can mix and match with other Crate Creature KaBOOM box creatures, giving them a unique look. Each creature comes with 45+ unique creature sounds and with its favourite food, which unlocks chomping sounds when placed in its mouth. There are 4 different Crate Creatures to collect; Blizz, Pudge, Sizzle and Snorthog, each with their own look, personality, phrases and favourite food! Don't worry if Pudge gets a little too much to handle you can simply lock him back up in his crate and release when you are ready for round two. When we were asked to review a Crate Creatures Surprise, I had a quick google and was immediately reminded of two 1980s toys… “Boggling” – remember those?

There are four different Crate Creature Surprises but they are all a similar size and have similar features. Although Crate Creatures by look a bit menacing, they're big softies really and make kids laugh a whole lot more than they could ever scare them by unleashing growling and funny noises (ones I know Tyler as a 5 year old boy definitely gets a giggle out of! That’s exactly what I thought when I first heard about Crate Creatures Surprise from MGA Entertainment.He also enjoyed testing out some of the old aeroplane seats and even pretended to be a pilot on the Islander Cockpit and touch all the controls inside a full size Robinson R22 helicopter. The only thing I would point out is that the talk back voice isn’t very monstrous but apart from this overall it’s a hit! It can be used both indoors and outdoors, you just need a big enough indoor area for them to use while jumping.

The crates are pretty fun to open – they come with a chain around the box {to keep your monster contained}, a padlock on top and a crowbar on the side. Crate Creatures Bashers are similar to the Crate Creatures Surprise as they are sat inside their little box, waiting to be unleashed!
